Rikk Agnew

PUNK GLOBE:
Hi Rikk thanks for taking the time for Let's Talk Punk Tell us when did being a musician all begin for you?

Rikk Agnew:
When I was in utero I used to kikk and tap to whatever musikk My Mom was listening to.

PUNK GLOBE:
You have released 2 books "Daddy Where do Strippers Come From?" and "Daddy, Where Does 420 Come From?" Can you tell us what inspired you to write your books?





Rikk Agnew:
My Good Friend Chuck (Fredric Burnt) is an artist that I met when I lived in the AAB Arts Colony in Santa Ana.He came up with the idea to do illustrations for books and the rest is history.

PUNK GLOBE:
Will we be seeing any more books in the near future?

Rikk Agnew:
We have a 3rd one in the works "Daddy, Why are There Homeless People, and Where did There Homes Go?" also a book of fictional short stories, A book about the OC Punk scene, and more!





PUNK GLOBE:
What do you enjoy reading?

Rikk Agnew:
Biographies, Pulp Fiction, Horror, Dr. Seuss.

PUNK GLOBE:
Who are some of your favorite Authors?

Rikk Agnew:
Stephen King, Clive Barker, Dean Koontz, Catherine Dunn, Dr. Seuss.

PUNK GLOBE:
How often do you travel or have book signings?

Rikk Agnew:
As much as I can, especially this year!





PUNK GLOBE:
Can you tell us about some of the bands you have played in?

Rikk Agnew:
I have played in every band except The Beatles, U2 & The Osmonds. I currently play in 3 bands: Rikk Agnew Band, Gitane DeMone Quartet & Summon.

PUNK GLOBE:
What do you think has changed in Punk Rock the last 10 years?

Rikk Agnew:
Depends on what Your definition of PUNK ROCK is. For Me, it's a Lifestyle, a clear, positive perspective on My environment and Surroundings. Honesty, greed-less, envy-less, FUN!!!





PUNK GLOBE:
How have you changed in the last 10 years?

Rikk Agnew:
180%. From being a dying negative habit infested loser to a clean living positive ambitious loving pillar of (MY) society.

PUNK GLOBE:
Who are some of your favorite musicians/bands?

Rikk Agnew:
Jimi Hendrix, Sun Ra, The Doors, Flipper, Suicide, The Beatles, The Damned.





PUNK GLOBE:
Any favorite local venues you like to play?

Rikk Agnew:
Cafe NELA, Steve Allen Theater, Musicbox HF Theater

PUNK GLOBE:
What is a side of you the public doesn't see?

Rikk Agnew:
Dikk; My Doppleganger ruthless evil Twin.





PUNK GLOBE:
What describes your perfect night out?

Rikk Agnew:
Playing a great show for Friends and Fans, talking with People there, then going to Canter's for a wee hour meal, then going home with My Wife Gitane DeMone and watching a bit of Film, then Fukking Our brains out and falling into slumbering embrace.

PUNK GLOBE:
What advise would you give to a young new musician?

Rikk Agnew:
Have fun doing it, or quit. Never let Your mind get filled with "making it big": It sets one up for negativity and forgetting why You do it in the first place. Oh, and don't start doing drugs or binge drinking.
