Punk isn’t about what kind of music you listen to or what you wear; or a certain attitude towards people and society; or what you choose to do with your life. It’s about listening to the music you WANT to listen to and wearing what you WANT to wear. It’s living your life without apologizing for living exactly the way you want to live no matter how many people tell you you’re doing it wrong. Ginger Coyote wanted to start a magazine in San Francisco in the summer of 1977 to let people know what she thought was cool, and to tell them about the bands she loved. Because of the force of her personality, her writing talent, a natural instinct for putting together pages in an ultra-cool format; AND a lot of hard work - Punk Globe Magazine became a staple of the scene with both the bands and their fans. It became the glue that connected the punk scene to the art scene to the writers and directors and fashion and photography and politics… It was all over the map. And it was real. And it was FUN! Punk Globe is still all of these things. The biggest difference is that instead of being put out on a few pages that Ginger printed, stapled together, and delivered around the Bay area; it is now an online, worldwide magazine that has contributors and fans all over the globe. Thanks for letting us all be a part of this AMAZING experience Ginger!! Here’s to another 41 years of GINGER COYOTE & PUNK GLOBE MAGAZINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Birthday from

~The Floydian Device Artist, Filmmaker, Writer

Happy 41st Anniversary Punk Globe!!! Hope that you continue to RAWK for 41 more...Thanks for all the love Gingersnap! You RAWK most of all ❤️❤️❤️

HAPPY 41ST BIRTHDAY, PUNK GLOBE!!! Thank you for the great privilege of being included as part of this empowered family of writers, visual artists, musicians, filmmakers and all of you amazing talented voices... voices that grow in numbers with every Punk Globe issue!!

True, unadulterated platforms to exercise freedom of speech have become increasingly rare and are being challenged and undermined quite literally as we speak. More and more in the last 41 years, Punk Globe has consistently given us an unfaltering platform on which to stand up, shout it out and never be clipped, dialed down, muted or judged. Every month. On time. Without fail. This in itself is an accomplishment beyond measure! From the beginning, Ginger has given all of our voices a place to not only be heard but to be fully and unconditionally celebrated! Ginger Coyote: you and Punk Globe are what we need more than EVER in this crazy time and you SHINE SHINE SHINE and bring us all up there to shine with you. This has to be the rarest arena out there that has as many readers as it does and that honours the abundance of talented and inspiring voices as it does - over hundreds of thousands of readers a month and counting! From all over the World!! May Punk Globe live forever!! WE NEED YOU TO!! Happy 41st Birthday Ginger and Punk Globe!! You KNOW how important you are to so many people WE LOVE YOU Love, Admiration and Eternal Respect... Liggy......

~ Ms. Ligaya Filmmaker, Writer

Punk Globe Magazine has been shapeshifting through 41 years of journalistic upheaval. Ginger Coyote takes risks in every aspect of entertainment. Steven M. Kalish and Nikki Palomino, authors of "The Last Gentleman Smuggler," agree that her fearlessness and versatile personality would make her one-heck-of a smuggler. Just try and grab the wallet from her hobo bag. You'll get waylaid to the curb before you can say Ramones!

~Steven Kalish and Nikki Palomino

Happy 41st anniversary to Punk Globe and Ginger Coyote! You keep the punk in the globe! So thankful to have you as a friend. Here's to many more years! Love ya big time...

~KHAOS! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️! #White Trash Debutantes, #Vegas, #Maria!

Happy Birthday, Punk Globe!! Thank you, Ginger for letting me be a part of it!

~Shawn Stevenson - Writer For Punk Globe Magazine

Back around '82 I met my rock and roll sister Ginger Coyote. Her band The White Trash Debutantes was every girl's dream to be in and every boy's dream to get naked in front of. She was cocky and beautiful and worked her ass off for her band and for her zine Punk Globe - Punk Globe defined the SF punk scene! SF bands have Ginger and Punk Globe to thank for promoting them and for letting the world know that SF was truly the home of the most fearless people in rock. Many thanks to Ginger, who continues tirelessly with her work, Punk Globe and The White Trash Debutantes. Lots of fond memories of Ginger and my SF peeps Roddy Bottum, everyone in Lenore Real Cook Chick, Punk Rock Patty, Bartlett Marketing Research, Cagney and Lacey, Judy Tenuta, Pauli Gray, Meri St. Mary, Bebe Buell, Lula, Nuns With Guns, Green Day, Jon Bon Jovi (who we met at The Ritz with Joey Ramone) and more...Thank you Ginger, I have such love and admiration for you. Congratulations and Happy Birthday Punk Globe. You fucking rock!

Punk Globe will never die. AT 41 It gets finer and juicier with every year that passes. Punk Globe has given so many opportunities for writers, artists, photographers to show their work. So many new bands have been introduced to the world through Ginger Coyote's continued efforts and hard work! Hot Gossip serves up all the tea with everything anyone would ever know. The devotion to rock n rollin raw Punk music and it's history with in depth interviews never fail to inform. Remembering the early days of the tiny apartment on Bush Street in SF, the birthplace of Punk Globe and how it manifested into a continuum made and created by Ginger Coyote, makes me proud to congratulate Punk Globe. I wouldn't be who I am today if it weren't for this mag!
