Today we would like to share with you our NEW Nilakantha Dharani ... THE GRASS ROOTS were one of the biggest American hit makers of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s, crafting a sound that was both perfectly situated in its time and yet also somehow timeless. Songs such as “Let’s Live For Today,” “Sooner Or Later” and “Midnight Confessions” made the band a staple of AM radio and helped transition popular music from the psychedelic sounds of the ‘60s to the more muscular classic rock of the ‘70s. Now a slew of both their peers and acolytes have come together on a unique career retrospective of THE GRASS ROOTS called Let’s Live For Today. Set for release on all formats on September 9, Let’s Live For Today features mixes and performances by The MC5's WAYNE KRAMER , NY garage revivalists THE FUZZTONES, TX psych band NIGHT BEATS, Canadian alt-country rockers DEAD GHOSTS , UK sensations THE COURETTES he Courettes and electronic duo The KVB. Each of these artists bring their own unique talents to bear on The Grass Roots legacy – just witness the stellar version of “Wait A Million Years” from the band’s 1969 Leaving It All Behind album crafted by retro rock duo THE COURETTES, which is being released to all platforms.. Los Angeles 'THE SWEET KILLS have a new full-length album “Darkness”. The lead single and title track “Darkness” is a post punk banger with nods to Joy Division and The Cure. You might remember singer Pete Mills from Vancouver’s infamous Flash Bastard. He’s about being kicked off a Motley Crue tour is the stuff of legend.

Fewer than 40 percent of Americans graduate from a four-year college, and these college graduates fare far better than nongraduates on a wide range of measures. College graduates earn much more on average; are less likely to endure unemployment; are more likely to marry; are healthier; live longer; and express greater satisfaction with their lives. These gaps have generally grown in recent decades.

As a result, many economists have expressed skepticism about the idea of universal student-loan forgiveness. It resembles a tax cut that flows mostly to the affluent: Americans who attend and graduate college tend to come from the top half of the income distribution and tend to remain there later in life. College graduates are also disproportionately white and Asian. “Education debt,” as Sandy Baum and Victoria Lee have written for the Urban Institute, “is disproportionately concentrated among the well-off.”

But the idea of loan forgiveness has nonetheless taken off on the political left. As Democrats have increasingly become the party of college graduates living in expensive metropolitan areas — and as the cost of college has continued rising, while income growth for many millennials has been disappointing — loan forgiveness has obvious appeal. These crosscurrents put President BIDEN and his aides in an awkward position. Biden fashions himself as a working-class Democrat. (He is the party’s first presidential nominee without an Ivy League degree since WALTER MONDALE . He did not initially campaign on a sweeping plan of college debt relief, adding it to his agenda only after he defeated more liberal candidates in the primaries, as a way to reach out to their supporters After months of behind-the-scenes work and internal debate, BIDEN finally announced his plan for loan forgiveness. And it is an attempt to find a middle ground.

THE LEGENDARY SWAGGERS continue to garner rave reviews and radio play for their sophomore full length release 'Gypsies, Junkies & Thieves'. With the announcement of their next West Coast date, we present to you "Circles" with a dose of west coast infused garage punk, melodies, saxophone and a chorus that'll hook you right in. CONNIE CHAMPAGNE is over San Francisco and is contemplating going back to Sacramento....

I started SIDESHOW Productions back in January of 1981 as a non-profit way to promote new musical talent. The deal was I would film (not video) any band that performed at the FAB MAB (and later other venues) for free. I began with Ginger Coyote’s Punk Globe parties at the FAB MAB and went on from there.

All of my films have been inducted into the “Hugh Hefner Moving Image Archive” as part of their “Punk Media Research Collection”. They have been masterfully transferred and restored by DINO ERVERETT. SIDESHOW IV is the fourth such party I filmed. It was GINGER COYOTE'S PUNK GLOBE MAGAZINE'S Valentines Party at the FAB MAB (2/9/81) and featured performances by: BAD ATTITUDE featuring CHUCK PROPHET... , ALIENATION JUST IN TIME FOR LINDA XYZ's 73rd Birthday, THE ADAPTERS, ” and “EYE PROTECTION with my dear pal ANDY PRIEBOY.

I hope you enjoy this trip in the SIDESHOW Time Machine and there are more to come. Best wishes to all, KARL HINZ

SARA BRINKER was so excited to see THE DAMNED and BLONDIE.......Actress, Singer and Oscar Nominee for the film Nashville RONEE BLAKEY was deeply moved by this The making of "Gone With the Wind" just played on TCM and I am deeply moved, even to tears; it is a great documentary with interviews and pictures and memories of the stars and major figures and from some who were there, including remarkable technical explanations; people worked themselves nearly to death to make and complete the film, one of my earliest experiences at a movie theater, and one which influenced my life, the highest earning film of all time. ("Gone With the Wind" is playing right now on TCM.)
