Happy Anniversary Punk Globe! The quote below is from a book I am reading at the moment, I think it truly reflects what you, Ginger have accomplished with Punk Globe over the years.

Not only is Ginger Coyote one of my best friends, we have something in common. Both of our babies turn 37 years old this summer. In 1977 Ginger gave birth to one of the coolest magazines in our pop culture merry-go- round. The Punk Globe has stood the test of time and continues to shine. Still getting the best interviews and the best covers... they just get better and better every year. Here's to 37 years of awesome and many many more to come. Happy Birthday Punk Globe- I love ya!

Happy 37th Birthday PUNK GLOBE!!! Ginger Coyote you created a magazine that really personifies what the spirit of PUNK is all about. It’s never followed anyone else’s rules or preconceived ideas of what a magazine should be. From Punk Icons to Boy Bands.. Hip Hop to Heavy Metal.. Comedy, Politics, Artists... AND FLO!!!!!! Every issue has something that you wouldn’t expect to be in a Punk Magazine; and that’s what makes it PuNk!! You give your writers and artists the freedom to really explore what they think is cool in the world and to put it together in a way that expresses their own creativity. Thanks for letting me be a part of this awesome magazine and cheers to a lot more great years to come!!!
~The Floydian Device

Punk is so much more than fashion and music; it is an attitude. It's a spit in the face of convention, that feeling you get (still) when you hear the opening chords of your favorite punk anthem, that chills up the spine turn the volume up to ten and screw the neighbors feeling that is the most exhilarating high! Oh yeah! Punk Globe has celebrated that feeling for 37 years now. How absolutely freaking fabulous!!! Here's to 37 more! Ginger Coyote and Punk Globe----you RAWK!!!!
~ Donna Destri

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PUNK GLOBE!!!!! 37 years and COUNTING!! A STANDING OVATION to GINGER COYOTE who started this incredible adventure 37 years ago! How she did it, I’ll never know, since she would have been barely out of DIAPERS!!! It all began with a vision to create a music/art magazine and was built from a desire to promote rad bands and artists … and not just ANY magazine… but a magazine that would encompass the PUNK GLOBE!!!!

Massive props to Ginger’s insane inspiration to unleash a magazine that would give you “Where Are They Now?” “Punk of the Month” and “Ask Sonny Bono” !! PUNK GLOBE has gone on to amass some of the most honest and open interviews with iconic artists who wouldn’t be interviewed by anyone BUT PUNK GLOBE… with artists of every persuasion from Jim Rose to Jim Carroll, Boy George to Jayne County, Pauley Perrette to Cheetah Chrome… and the list goes on for MILES…bringing you everything you ever wanted to know about the people who shaped your own artful persuasion or just shaped your music collection. All because of that first copy of PUNK GLOBE 37 years ago… Xeroxed, stapled and sold for $1.00….PUNK GLOBE MAGAZINE was BORN!!

Happy Birthday and a Triple Long Island toast to Ginger Coyote on PUNK GLOBE’S 37th Birthday <3 <3 <3
~ Ms. Ligaya
Musician, Journalist, Filmmaker, Producer

" Congratulations on 37 rip-roaring years of PUNK GLOBE mayhem! I still remember the night we met in 1978 at San Francisco's infamous Mabuhay Gardens when the Mumps were playing, and Iggy Pop stopped by after their show... I was seventeen, pretty tipsy and dressed in a 1940's nurse's uniform, and you kept chasing me around yelling that I looked like Kate Jackson!! You and your crazy awesome punk rock spirit haven't changed- THANKS FOR KEEPING ROCK AND ROLL ALIVE!!!!!!"
~ Pleasant Gehman
Author, Belly Dancer, Actress, Musician

Like Generation X bassist Tony James said about the Ramones, "Everybody went up three gears the day they got that first Ramones LP. Punk Rock, that rama-lama super fast stuff, is totally down to the Ramones." Punk Globe Magazine spear-headed a new wave of journalism for the fans, and like the Ramones who outlasted many of their peers, has achieved long- lasting success for 37 years. Thanks to Ginger Coyote, her sense of trash-culture coupled with the original Rolling Stone Magazine aesthetic (although they've strayed from their roots) we have the Andy Warhol avant garde in words. 1-2-3-4 Gabba Gabba Hey!
~Nikki Palomino
Author, Rock Journalist, Talk Show Host WE68Radio, former Grunge-Punk Rock Musician

Happy 37th Anniversary, Punk Globe! Ginger, your magazine has chronicled some of the great moments and acts in alternative music history and continues to stay on the cutting edge of both classic and modern punk. Congratulations on another super year and many more to come!
~ Chris Cordani
Host Of The Revenge Of The 80's Radio Show

Thank you Ginger Coyote for giving us all Punk Globe. For all of your hard work keeping us connected and in the know, of what is happening, what has gone down and what will be happening. For keeping the history of Punk Rock alive and true. For consistently and generously being the true progenitor of all things punk rock and rock ‘n’ roll. And giving the world a valuable and important part of history, that would otherwise be lost. Thank you for doing what you do, I have such great admiration for you, for being a true Icon who so humbly and graciously keeps the flame burning for everyone else. You should have your own star on Hollywood Boulevard and at the very least, a Boulevard named after you. I thank you for your infectious sense of humor, delightful spirit, your sense and appreciation for all things eccentric and underground, and your effortless ability to document all things pop-culture. The world would be a lot less exciting without Ginger Coyote and Punk Globe Magazine. Happy 37th Birthday!
All my love and endless respect. ~ Iris Berry

We know that Ginger Coyote's Punk Globe Magazine has been a major stead in the West Coast Punk Movement for decades.

But not just for reporting on the Punk Movement's perceived philosophy its self but by talking about all of the people in it from the bands and roadies to the scene-sters, bartenders, club promoters, comics, soap stars, photographers, artists, politicians etc who were part of it in the early historic days at the Mab to what is happening now on a more global level that traces how big the movement and its effects in the world have changed us all. We actually can go back and forth in time and remember what was happening then just like it is happening now from a truly original Punk Globe perspective. Remembering the bartenders and scene- sters names just as much as who was on the bill that night and all the funny crazy stuff in between...

every copy of the Punk Globe should be in the Smithsonian -- Much to its credit Punk Globe carries on to keep us all informed about the people, the players, the actors, the artists, the comedians, and the politics of what is not a manufactured hype but is closer to the truth about the real people who helped create a movement in music and lifestyle that has helped change the world…Here's to you Ginger and all the folks at Punk Globe long may you reign! Happy 37th Birthday!

Since 1977. Ginger Coyote has been keeping it real from hand-copied pages, to Fang Family press, though SF Litho and Internet. No matter what the technology, Punk Globe delivers the same message - that rock and roll is still kicking and screaming, and the punk attitude and DiY delivery don't take no sponsors or censors! Being fairly new in San Francisco in 1977, I quickly realized that everything I needed to know about the best events in town were in Punk Globe. Although I didn't meet you until years later, I attended the various venues around town mentioned in your magazine. Many artists, writers, photographers and musicians including myself received their first exposure in Punk Globe. Sincere thanks Ginger for all your hard work documenting our history over the years, your incredible memory for details and your gift for bringing people together. I am personally indebted to you. Happy Anniversary to Punk Globe a wonderful magazine to write for. More importantly a wonderful place to read about music, film, books, people all kinds of things. The editor is one hot dish as well, so that doesn't hurt either. So here is to 37 years and to 37 more!

The amount of devotion and focus of purpose Ginger has put into keeping Punk Globe going for 37 years is an effort in selfless giving. We would have never known which band was playing where, what the bands were about and who they were without her. I have been blessed to grace the pages of Punk Globe back in it's newsprint days. The amount of work it took to get each issue out was huge but Ginger never gave up. The SF scene would have been nowhere without Punk Globe and Ginger's efforts. We couldn't wait for the issues to come out and all the juicy info, photos and gossip we hungered for. I am thrilled that Punk Globe continues to feed us and am proud to be part of the Punk Globe family! Happy Birthday Punk Globe! You make our world go round. Through the laughter and the tears, here's to 37 more years! Much love and respect to my darling Ginger! Shamama sez: 'Read Punk Globe NOW...or I will spank you!' One score and seventeen years ago Ginger Coyote brought forth unto this continent a new magazine conceived in San Francisco, and dedicated that all punks are created equal. She then unleashed Punk Globe on to this planet via the internet and that magazine of the punks, by the punks and for the punks shall not perish from the earth!
~ Timm Carney
Actor, Director, Journalist, Film Maker

Happy Birthday, Punk Globe! Every year with you is a new experience, especially this one. I could not have asked for more support from my Punk Globe family in terms of beginning my transition. Punk Globe was the first publication to refer to me as "she," which marked a huge shift in how I saw myself and how readers saw me. I'm grateful to have had Ginger tell me over the phone that I was beautiful so many times and to encourage me to get the resources together to start hormone replacement therapy. Punk Globe has been a major force in building my self-confidence and, without fail, every year I meet people who change my outlook on life for the better through this magazine. As I broaden my horizons and see my work published in other places, I know I'll always come back to Punk Globe. This is my home and I'm proud to be a part of it.

It's insane to think of how long we've known each other and when you started this little paper of yours called the "PUNK GLOBE" Running around at all the shows inside the Mabuhay with your little xeroxed copies stapled together like a little magazine that was just the beginning, you'd be handing out those little magazines left n right n the gang were eating them up like flies getting all the information on the local know-how. Looks like they still are and I haven't left out it tidbit keeping everybody interested in that little magazine. Which isn't so little now!

CONGRATULATIONS AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!! 37 years of publishing a paper is NOTHING to laugh at and neither is our age. All the best baby and Happy Birthday to Punk Globe!

37 years?! Wasn't it just 37 seconds ago? Couldn't be more than 37 weeks... Definitely not more than 37 months... but 37 years!!?!? The time certainly flies when you are having fun, or fighting, or fucking in the streets! I thank all that is Holy and Unholy for allowing my path to cross with Ginger's, and for Punk Globe Magazine, keeping me abreast of what is going on.

I get so wrapped up in school of late, I am not longer the "cool chick" with my finger on the pulse of all that pertains to music or entertainment. That is where Punk Globe comes in. It pays respects to those of the past, many of whom are now "cool" again (when did they stop being cool? Debbie? Bebe? Exene? ummm...helloooo they are the epitome of cool!) but also showcases new bands, and people to watch. So my fingers are less on pulses and more on viral cells, blood and other fun and weird things one finds in a laboratory, at least I know I can rely on Ginger and Punk Globe to prevent me from becoming a complete hermit and musical neophyte. But don't tell me it has been 37 years...I shan't believe you. Because it was just yesterday, I am sure of it. At least...it feels that way.

Happy Birthday Punk Globe and thank you again Ginger and all the crew for all your hard work and passion.

Much love to you, smooches and squishy hugs. I adore you.
~ Justine Sanford
