Nikki Palomino's DAZED presents various series on Monday Nights 7pm PST/ 9pm CST/ 10pm EST/ 3am GMT on Whatever 68 Radio. The Emerging Artists Series with guest co-host My Son The Bum's Brian Kroll gives global exposure to some great bands from around the world. This show proves talent exists in spite of the lack of Record Labels, promotion and money. The DIY movement has held no artist back. Instead the end of the record moguls who offer nothing but ambivalence has created a movement rich with ideas and creative use of every aspect of making music. Go back to garage bands, their mind-set promising the love of art instead of herding fans into sweltering arenas where the bands arrive and depart in limos. The gap between art and fan has lessened with YouTube. The internet mocks corporate radio with a tool to handle more bands and allows a free-form creative atmosphere. Meet Dead Pollys embarking on their first US East Coast tour this October.

Dead Pollys from Stockholm, Sweden is a three-piece classic energetic punkrock act with members from infamous bands like Sir Reg, Mansic and Pasted. In their collective past they have played more than 200 performances all over Europe.

Dead Pollys strives to deliver a naked, honest punk rock with influences from everything they love, so don't be surprised if you hear traces of folk, pop or any other genre in their arsenal.

On harsh vocals and crashing guitars you have big boy Nizze, Juba handles the thundering bass and Miche is the machine who waves his hair as he beats the drum. We're proud to let you know that on the album "Bullet For The Wicked" Jonathan Segel from Camper Van Beethoven is our guest on violin.

Nizze

Dead Pollys was started by Nizze in 2012. The basic idea was to "continue" with The Rummies, his former folkpunkband but it turned out completely different and the first "version" of Dead Pollys was a rock/folk band that didn't have so much punk in it. After a small release Nizze started to write songs with more punkrock attitude again. The first change was the bass player Stene Gustafsson who got replaced by Juba. Juba was formerly the bass player of Sir Reg, an emerging band from Sweden (with an Irish singer) who plays celctic punkrock and one of the tours they did was together with Misfits. The next change closer to Dead Pollys of today was that Hans Muller, the very talanted lead guitarist left the band since he was not so much into punkrock. They decided to leave it at that and Nizze was left on his own with the guitar. The last change was that Ola Hook left the band and Miche took his place.

Nizze has been active touring in Europe with Mansic (and later Hate Is Just A Feeling and even later The Rummies) and during this time they released two albums and a vinyl E.P n in the U.S. They toured with Stroh from Spain, Fux from The U.S and Ginos Eyeball from Belgium. The band changed name to The Rummies just before they split. During this time Juba was equaly active in Sir Reg, doing tours and playing festivals all over Europe.

Nizze has a history in the Swedish punkrock scene with bands like Sighstens Grannar and Nepente. Sighstens Grannar almost never got to play on the same stage twice because of their attitude. The band's drummer Mart Hallgren later started "De Lyckliga Kompisarna" that became a quite famous act in Sweden. He was writing his lyrics in Swedish, but when he started [sic] together with his brother (later Mansic) in the end of the 90's he noticed that Europe were more interested in the band and because of that he started writing all the songs in English. Juba is the former bass player of "Sir Reg", a celtpunkband from Sweden and one of the European tours were made together with The Misfits. Miche is the motor in the band and he is sprung out of the hardrock scene and he knows how to drive the songs forward. He is the former drummer of the swedish punkband Pasted.

Emerging Artists gives you the best of what the world gives you in music.
