The Always Hip Slick and Cool
Betty Moon
'Crazy'
Single CD Review By: Patricia Baker

On July 26, 2019 Betty Moon dropped the extended release of 'Crazy' soon to be hopefully blastin’ out of clubs, and definitely on everyone’s playlist. With a catchy beat reminiscent of hits like Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive or Donna Summer’s Hot Stuff, Ms. Moon Delivers with lines like ‘I sold my soul, did it all for you’ . Given the current state of the union, my interest was piqued, by the title of this Grande Dame, Betty Moon’s ninth release, Hellucination. Not sure if the highlighted UCI in Hellucination stood for Under Construction Indefinitely, which could certainly apply, as ‘L’artiste’ Betty Moon again recreates herself and treats us to another fresh, original release consisting of her lyricism that’s deep. She’ll likely make a fortune as her releases eventually echo out of Forever 21 stores, in malls, and at Anthropology while we’re shopping, Thank God for that! Please get on the ball corporate Amerika mall playlist people.

Please stop playing Men at Work at the fucking mall, as c’mon we’ve got the so much more relevant Ms Moon whose work and songs are timely, relevant and accessible, while also retaining a depth and commentary that’s astute.'Crazy' is the single to look for to fulfill your every whim.....

Punk Globe says check her out and give Betty Moon some love and some hits on YouTube, and above all play and enjoy the extended mixes on 'Crazy 'at your next soiree.

Since Ms. Moon’s 2015 release and cover of the Airplane’s Someone To Love, which proved once and for all that Ms. Moon knows and loves her rock and roll, with her Grace Slick, Grace Jones, Lana Del Rey sensibility and take on the Airplane’s chef d’oeuvre, Ms. Moon has demonstrated a continually varied and wide tasteful range on the production and the release of her extensive body of work. At last techno-pop, drum and bass funky enough with plenty of R&B licks in the mix, that I don’t immediately turn the dial, that’s fun upbeat, and sounds as relevant in the club, the car or at the mall. Betty appears to have studied her Eno, and Manzanera. Her cover of the Stones Gimme Shelter closed the deal for me. Let’s hope it’s just a kiss away for Ms Moon. So give her some love and some hits on You Tube, and show Toronto born Betty Moon some respect, people, we are lucky to have her creativity with us in California and to have her residing in LA for the past decade, getting down with releases such as Hellucination. But for now just think Crazy....
