WAR OF AGGRESSION

By: Rachel Hanna and Matthew Marrujo
War of Aggression have been kicking some major ass since 2009... The following interview was done with all the guys in the band... We hope you enjoy.....
Punk Globe:
First off, go ahead and introduce yourselves. Lets get to know you.
WAR OF AGGRESSION:
Face (vocals),
Radio (guitar, vocals),
Rich (guitar, vocals),
db (bass, vocals),
Noless (drums).
We are from the East Bay area of San Francisco, Ca.
Punk Globe:
Your band, War of Aggression has been around since 2009, how did War of Aggression come together as a band?
WAR OF AGGRESSION:
Well, in 09' Noless , db and Rich were playing in a band together and their drummer took a leave of absence. db was writing some stuff on guitar and asked Noless and Rich to do a side project. practiced a couple times and found a couple others that wanted to play in a project and just kept rolling. a couple member changes later.
Punk Globe:
There are five of you, is this the original line up?
WAR OF AGGRESSION:
Nah, the original line up had a different singer, different bass players and db was playing guitar.

We knew Face from the studio complex we use to practice in, he was taking a break from playing bass in a metal band and db asked him to come to a practice and hang out. It ended up we kicked our singer out out for flaking and asked Face to do his thing on the mic.

We've known Radio for years through friends and his other bands. db asked him to play guitar while db played bass to fill in for our 2nd bass player. That's how we ended up with how it is today. shout outs to Nick farmer and Steve Estes (falcon a) our former bass players and still great friends.
Punk Globe:
Way Cool. Where did the name War of Aggression come from?
WAR OF AGGRESSION:
db came up with the name. He wanted "My War", but that was already taken. War of Aggression turned out to be a good name for us because we have taken the meaning and have applied it to our live shows and to our local music scene.
Punk Globe:
Who or what influences your music? Who writes the songs and lyrics?
WAR OF AGGRESSION:
As far as influences...we are all pretty different in our styles, I guess we pull from the bands we can all actually agree on...

We are all involved in the song writing for the most part, it depends on who has a cool riff or something they have been working on. Face writes all the lyrics.
Punk Globe:
You mentioned you have applied your name to your live shows, can you explain?
WAR OF AGGRESSION:
Think of it as an invasion of chaos and puck rock.We all have been playing in bands for years, not sure how many shows we've seen collectively (a shitload), so, we know how to handle our business and know our role in the show. We have been known to get crazy on stage (db-I've been 'planked' while playing)..yeah... Face has done front flips off stage, there has been drunken baby zombies, fights, dogpiles with chicks beating the shit out of everyone, Pee- Wee Herman and Hunter S. Thompson have shown up a few times.

Basically, we don't want to throw ourselves into a niche or a gimmicky type band but don't be surprised at anything we may or may not do at any given show. We always try to bring it. We love the energy and it's fun to help set the bar for the other bands, challenge them to do their best.
Punk Globe:
What's next for War of Aggression? Any plans to tour or any new material?
WAR OF AGGRESSION:
We are going on tour with our friends and baddass dudes, Hero's at Gunpoint to LA and San Diego in September. We are in the last stages of mixing our newest 4 song ep called "Your Move" that should be out in a month or so. We will be releasing them as singles as they are completed.
Punk Globe:
