I first saw Tim perform as the front man of Trial Kennedy some years ago in a Melbourne pub. I was quite dumbfounded and shocked and
kept asking myself:-"Why the hell is this guy playing here? He should be playing stadiums!" Which was great to hear that Ricky Martin agrees with me on stadiums. At the time I had the same sensation as I had all those years ago when I first saw The Living End play in a Melbourne pub to only ten crazy punks, who were going nuts, me of course
being one of them.
Tim has a very unique and individual style as a live performer with his eyes full of passion, fight and heart that hypnotize you.
Physically his live performance with his stomping leg, and sometimes the way he clutches the mic reminds me of Nick Cave's live
physical performance. Seal has described Tim as a force, just a force and Seal finds himself not wanting it to stop and Seal doesnt want Tim's performance to end. I find when I have seen Tim play sets that it feels like only 5 minutes instead of 45 minutes and I always ask is that it?
(In this clip Ben sings first til the 2:00 minute mark then as Joel Madden describes Tim's performance, Tim Crushes Ben's Performance with a brilliant cover of U2's Sunday Bloody Sunday.)
Unfortunately Trial Kennedy called it a day last year after plugging away in the Australian Music Scene for 10 years. Their first EP
was Present for a Day recorded with Helltrack Records, in 2004, but it was their second EP release, Picture Frame EP with Helltrack
Records, in 2005, that gained them some respect in the industry, and their song Damage on Parade was included on a sampler for Blunt
Magazine which demanded public attention in 2006. They recorded two albums New Manic Art with Sony BMG, in 2008 and Living Undesigned
with MGM, in 2011; they also recorded a Spilt EP with another Melbourne band at the time, Horsell Common, The Birds and the Bees with
Helltrack Records/Set Fire To My Home, in 2006.
Trial Kennedy has supported many National and International acts in Australia including, The Living End, Fall Out Boy, Yellowcard, Birds
of Tokyo and Shihad, they have also played the number one music festival in Australia, Soundwave in the year 2007 as well as Come
Together Music Festival in 2008 and many more. They worked with Nick DiDia, who worked with Powderfinger, the Stone Temple Pilots,
Incubus and Audioslave on their first album.
Although Tim Morrison may not still be in the running to win The Voice here in Australia, I believe with his fight, passion and heart
we will hear more of him in the future. I wish him all the best and hope all his dreams come true; he has certainly paid his dues and
has the cred through sheer hard work, as Delta describes Tim having so much fight, a real fighter and was the hardest worker she had worked with. As long as he opens up and believes in himself I am sure the rest of the globe will hear him
too. Tim never stop fighting for your dreams, it's all or nothing from here on in. I hope somewhere you are writing and recording.
Your voice and stage presence is a gift that the entire world deserves to experience. Good Luck and keep on rocking!
