The Upgrades is a five piece alternative, ska, punk rock band hailing from Dublin Ireland. The Upgrades have just released their kickass debut album"Take A Risk" on SYWP Records which they recorded with Neal Calderwood at Manor Park Studios. The Upgrades have toured around playing music festivals such as the Mighty Sounds 2008 in Prague, the Electric Picnic music festival in Europe, the Staatsforsten Open Air Festival in Germany, the Cula Outdoor Music Festival, and The International Taste of Chaos Tour, sharing the stage with bands such as Taking Back Sunday, Alexisonfire, Saosin, Anti-Flag, Senses Fail, and Underoath. They have also toured with Bedouin Sound Clash, State Radio, and ska legend Neville Staple (ex-The Specials), The Beat, and Set Your Goals.
The Upgrades are influenced by NOFX, Rancid, and The Bouncing Souls. The Upgrades are a highly energetic band, infusing reggae and ska with solid beats and pop punk producing exciting results. Their music is loaded with ska beats, blasting horns, contagious guitar riffs, and infectious choruses which are belted out unapologetically. The Upgrades’ debut album "Take A Risk" is a juggernaut of musical explosions, which entice your feet to dance and your voice to sing!
