The Sunflower Spectacle is a massive seven piece psychedelic, experimental, shoegaze band from Pennsylvania. They have released a self titled album, and are touring it now (scroll down for dates and venues). The Sunflower Spectaclecite a varied blend of influences such as Bob Dylan, The Velvet Underground, Pink Floyd, The Kinks, Jesus and the Mary Chain, The Pixies, Television, David Bowie, Meat Puppets, Leonard Cohen, Radiohead, REM and The Beatles.

The Sunflower Spectacle's music is melodious, tweaked with experimental riffs that take you on a psychedelic trip with a modern day 60's music feel. Their lyrics are poetic and delivered slightly raspy, their music invokes feeling, creating the effect of listening to The Sunflower Spectacle
is an experience all by itself.

I had the pleasure of listening to five songs off the self titled album.
I'm a Ghost...No, I'm a Monster is a rockin' track with screeching
guitar riffs that ebbs and flows and finishes beautifully.
"You said find something well I found nothing." 

Utopia's music is uplifting with clever lyrics, take a minute
to reflect with this song.” I watched the ocean, swallow everyone." 

Falling into Dreams is a massive, epic song that builds into a
rock-orchestral piece.” It doesn't matter how it starts, only how it ends." 

I also listened to two other amazing songs -- Jetplane and Clouds Look Painted, which are both on their MySpace.
