The guys from Sevendust went out on a limb with this one, and took a risk on doing an acoustic album. I am thrilled to say, that they were very successful in this endeavor. Most of us are used to the hard hitting, heavy sound that Sevendust normally delivers, so this album may be hard to imagine. But I promise that they hit the ball out of the park with this cd.

The guys decided to use PledgeMusic to fund the album, and remarkably within 60 days, they had 155% of their goal. That speaks volumes. They wanted to let the fans be part of the process, and allowed them to chose 6 of their favorite Sevendust tunes that they wanted to be on the album. The album also includes 6 new songs.

The songs are composed with a very complex sound, that is layered. Then you have the vocals that no one can deliver like Lajon, that stands out, and are very clean. Lyrics that may otherwise be unclear, are easily understood, and blows you away. Every ounce of talent that the members of Sevendust possess is squeezed out, and the intense sound they achieve is outstanding.

My favorite song on the cd is "Denial". It always has been a fave, and the way that they re-worked the song is phenomenal. Right when you are expecting the bang of loud guitar, you are gently taken away in the total opposite direction, and are yet just as pleased with the experience.

Sevendust is going on tour supporting this cd. Please if they are coming to your town, do yourself a favor, we all deserve a night out sometimes.
