Denver, Colorado's premier punk band
are PRIMASONIC, and
they are currently kicking up a storm with their new
album, titled UNADORNED.
One listen to these boys reminds you of those halcyon days when Punk
was Punk, and not
watered down Green Day nonsense.
|
Formed in 2006, these noisy buggers
turn it up loud. Vocalist SIN
manages to make every word sound like his last, pure spite and
venom....you can believe what he's shouting about is true because he
believes it is and makes it known through his emotions.
|
The Musical unit consists of Guitarist KURT, who has a sound
reminiscent of true old school punk, Drummer
ZAC keeps a
steady, tight, but powerful Beat, and Bassist CLYDE
lays it down....these guys sounds like a tight force, and any self
respecting punk rocker should check out the UNADORNED
album.
|
The band were kind enough to share a
sneak preview of the album with me, so here's what to expect.
|
ESCAPE FROM THE SUBURBS:
|
What an opening track, this reminds me
so much of English punks 999, some quality guitar licks, very powerful
and very 1977, although the intro reminds me of Chaotic Dischord in
their prime. a hint of EDDIE AND THE HOT RODS, it makes a big change to
hear a punk band that sound
like a 1977 UK band instead of a sub genre like thrash punk. Anthemic
choruses aplenty here, You'll be singing this all day after hearing it.
|
REPOSSESION:
|
A tempo change here, gutsy, lots of tom
beats, i cant get over how much Vocalist Sin
sounds like 999's Nick Cash, yet again it's catchy as hell, heavy as a
kick in the balls.
|
MIND RAPE:
|
HEY
HEY pre-choruses signal another power anthem, "YOUR MIND'S A WEAPON" shout
the boys, and another great guitar solo, laid back yet soaring.
|
BITCH:
|
we all know girls like this, this
sounds like a punk song, but strangely has a kind of sixties groove
until the tribal drums and Dead Kennedys guitar style breaks in and
then kicks back to that groove.
|
HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THE RAIN:
|
This CCR cover, already punked up by
The Ramones, appears as a hidden track on the CD, now......i LOVE
punked up covers of classics, and these boys have created their own
take on the song, it's great, and should be played to death!
|
All in all, the UNADORNED album should be
bought, unwrapped and played extremely loudly. These guys have the
songs
and the sound, and deserve to get lots of recognition for this. Keep it
up, Lads!
