PUNK GLOBE:
Hows things?
I heard you guys for the first time on the Give 'Em the Boot
compilation and I just loved it. How important was that for your
career? I remember hearing Dropkick Murphy's 'Barroom Heroes' on
vol 1 many years ago. Where are you guys going to be in 5 years?
Say in 10 years?
ZAK: HOPEFULLY IN 10 YEARS WE WILL BE SIGNED TO A
MAJOR LABEL AND COMPLETING OUR PLANS OF WORLD DOMINATION.
PUNK GLOBE: Whats new with Orange? What have
you been up to lately? Made any plans for the rest of 2006?
ZAK: LATELY WE ARE JUST LEARNING SONGS FOR
THE NEW ALBUM. ON OCTOBER 13 WE ARE HEADING OUT ON TOUR FOR ABOUT
A MONTH WITH THE MISFITS/ADICTS FIEND FEST. AT THE BEGINNING OF
DECEMBER WE ARE GOING INTO THE STUDIO TO RECORD THE SECOND ALBUM
WHICH IS DUE OUT FOR MAY 2007. YOU COULD SAY THAT ITS GOING TO BE
A HECTIC NEXT 4 MONTHS.
PUNK GLOBE: Tell the readers about your
line-up and one intriguing fact about each band member? Who gets
the most girls? W! here are your favorite place to play? What are
your influences?
ZAK: WELL OUR LINE UP CONSISTS OF JOE ON
BASS/LEAD VOCALS, MIC ON RHYTHM GUITAR, JACK "THE RIPPER/KING
JACK" ON LEAD GUITAR AND THE SEXIEST MEMBER ZAK GLOSSERMAN ON
DRUMS. HMMMM INTRIGUING FACTS...JOE LOVES HIS DOGS MORE THAN LIFE
ITSELF, MIC KNOWS HOW TO THROW A PARTY, JACK WATCHES MORE TV THAN
GOD, AND MY CAR HAS A BIG STICKER COVERING THE WHOLE HOOD OF MY
CAR SAYING "GNAR KILL" AS FOR THE MOST GIRLS, I HAVEN'T GOTTEN ANY
SINCE OCTOBER 2005, SO I'M OUT. JACK DOES PRETTY WELL, I WOULD
HAVE TO SAY ITS A TIE BETWEEN THE GOOD LOOKING ONES IN THE BAND,
MIC AND JOE. OUR FAVORITE PLACE TO PLAY IS THE KEY CLUB ON THE
SUNSET STRIP. THAT IS WHERE WE PLAYED OUR FIRST SHOW, AND WE HAVE
PLAYED THERE OVER 15 TIMES SINCE. WE LOVE IT THERE AND THEY LOVE
US EVEN MORE THERE.
PUNK GLOBE: How did you come up with the band
name?
ZAK: THIS TOOK PLACE BEFORE I JOINED THE BAND,
BUT ILL TELL IT ANYWAY. THEY HAD A SHOW COMING UP AND THEY DIDN'T
HAVE A NAME. ONE OF THE SONGS WAS CALLED! ORANGE, SO THEY DECIDED
TO CALL THE BAND ORANGE JUST FOR THAT SHOW, AND IT STUCK.
PUNK GLOBE: How did you get in contact with
Hellcat?
What is it like working with them?
Did you have your parents look over the contract?
ZAK: OUR GOOD FRIEND BRYAN RABIN GAVE TIM
ARMSTRONG OUR DEMO. WE HAD OUR FIRST SHOW AT THE KEY CLUB COMING
UP AND TIM DECIDED TO GO. HE SAW US, LIKED WHAT HE SAW, AND
OFFERED US A DEAL ON THE SPOT THAT NIGHT. AFTER THAT WE HAD TO GET
A LAWYER TO LOOK OVER OUR CONTRACT. OUR PARENTS TRUSTED OUR
MANAGER AND OUR LAWYER TO MAKE THE RIGHT DECISIONS (WHICH THEY
DID) AND IT ALL TURNED OUT GREAT.
PUNK GLOBE: Would you break a contract to work
with say Universal? Have you released anything else on smaller
labels? Any DIY releases?
ZAK: OUR ONLY REAL DIY RELEASE WAS OUR 3 SONG
DEMO THAT LANDED US A DEAL W/ HELLCAT.
PUNK GLOBE: Any good advice for young bands
hoping to make it?
ZAK: PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! BECOME A
REALLY GOOD LIVE BAND. MAKE A DEMO, SEND IT OUT TO SMALL LABELS
AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS.
PUNK GLOBE: What are your songs about? What
would you never write a song about?
ZAK: I COULDN'T ANSWER THIS ONE AHHAHA
PUNK GLOBE: Who took the questions?
ZAK: ZAK (I WAS HERE)
PUNK GLOBE: Anything else you want to add?
ZAK:
ADD US ON MY SPACE!
