I´ve
been a fan of Fabulous Disaster for ages now and my first
interview with that band was done by Mr Nancy. I´ve always
respected her as a musician and I was saddened to learn of
her illness and her leaving of Fab Disaster. Well this great
lady is back kicking ass with a new band so I sent off some
questions. Here´s what Mr Nancy had to say.
Punk
Globe: So how did your new band ´Charm School Drop Outs´
come about?
Davey Jonesin´ and Angel Xstacy and myself were having "Rock
School" w/Davey teaching us guitar licks....those guys left
town, came back and gave me a buzz and asked about putting a
project together...
Punk Globe: Who else is in the band apart from
yourself and who plays what?
We have Davey Jonesin´ on guitar, Angel Xstacy on
vocals, Ed Cagnacci on guitar, Mark Bradin on drums and
myself on bass.
Punk Globe: You´ve done a few songs but can we see
you recording a single or album for release in 2006?
We´re gonna try and get something out this next year, our
schedules are really crazy, but we´re working on it...we´ll
keep ya posted.
Punk Globe: The Charm School Drop Outs just played
with Nashville Pussy so how did you go down with their fan
base?
Unfortunately the show got cancelled the day before...we
were majorly bummed..their equipment van flipped outside of
Denver, there was some injury to the crew, but thank god
everyone made it out relatively ok, but they ended up
cancelling their West Coast shows...hopefully they´re gonna
try and come back in february...but we did play with the
Dwarves last week..it was a blast!!! they rip shit up!
Punk Globe: I knew you were ill a while back so you
fully recovered now?
Yeah, I´m hanging in there....
That´s good to hear:-)
Punk Globe: Do you miss playing out with Fabulous
Disaster?
Of course, we had a lot of fun for a long time.
Punk Globe: Now you´ve packed in Drinking N Drugs
what are your new hobbies?
Oh you know...now I have more time and energy to get into
different kinds of trouble - wink wink!
Sounds promising. Maybe I
ought to start saving up for a sex change!!!
FFRUK:
You´ve been about a long time so any good memories you´d
like to share with our readers?
There´s so many of them..I´m lucky to have had so many great
music and travel experiences...I have a million stories...I
guess after being ill I really appreciate the music so much
more and feel pretty lucky that I still get to do it...we
did a show in Leipzig with Fab D at a soccer tournament in
the pouring rain, the people didn´t care, they just rocked
out in the rain, and so did we...I thought there was the
chance we´d be electrocuted on stage, and it was fucking
awsome....
Punk Globe: So what are your plans for 2006 as an
indivual and with your band?
To get a cd out, travel some more, ya know, the usual
stuff...
Punk Globe: Anything you´d like to add?
Not much, I suck at typing, but thanks for the interview and
good work you do...it´s great fun to read!!! xoxoxoxxo
Thanks for that Mr Nancy. Glad you like ´Street
Voice´. Well thanks for doing the interview and I can´t wait
to hear what you get up to in 2006. I Love You XXX.
