I have been a long time fan of Mark Lindsay... I remember buying 16 Magazine just to look at
him... He was the cats meow!! When I was offered the chance to interview the legend. I
jumped at the chance.... Please enjoy my interview with him!!

Punk Globe: Thank you so much for doing the interview. I have heard
“Like Nothing That You’ve Seen,” and I am quite impressed. Is this a song that you wrote?
MARK LINDSAY: I co-wrote the song with Gar Francis.
Here is a link for the song on CD Baby http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/marklindsay3
MARK LINDSAY: Apparently Gar asked Kurt Reil from the Grip Weeds if he knew anybody who could
play sax on a tune the Doughboys were working on, and I got the gig.
Punk Globe: Are you just playing sax on the track "It's a Crying Shame"?
MARK LINDSAY: I played baritone, tenor, and alto sax on Cryin' Shame.
Punk Globe: Are you also singing backup on the song?
MARK LINDSAY: Yes, I am
MARK LINDSAY: I bought my first Selmer Mark VI when I was 16, and yes, I play bariione and
tenor on various Raider tunes, including Just Like Me, Hungry, and Melody For An Unknown
Girl.
Punk Globe: I loved Paul Revere and The Raiders... Tell us what got you back into the studio
to record the new Mark Lindsay album?
MARK LINDSAY: Gar and I started writing some good tunes and it seemed a shame not to record
them.
MARK LINDSAY: It's on iTunes now.
Punk Globe: How many tracks will be on the new album?
MARK LINDSAY: We're aiming for 12-14 tracks.
MARK LINDSAY: Yes they are all on it.
Punk Globe: Describe yourself in three words?
MARK LINDSAY: Trying to progress
Punk Globe: My good pal Storm Large mentioned that she had seen you walking around in
Portland Oregon every once in awhile. Are you still living there?
MARK LINDSAY: No, I am based in Florida now but travel full time.
MARK LINDSAY: I was born in Eugene but grew up in Idaho.
Punk Globe: Tell us about forming Paul Revere and The Raiders?
MARK LINDSAY: It was a long process that took years, you'll have to wait for the book!
MARK LINDSAY: It was an incredible experience. I now hold the record for the most network
television appearances for an American rock and roll singer.
Punk Globe: Is it true that you lived with Terry Melcher when Dennis Wilson introduced him to
Charles Manson?
MARK LINDSAY: Yes, Terry and I shared the Cielo Drive house.
Punk Globe: Back to the music which song by The Raiders is your favorite.
MARK LINDSAY: It's hard to pick a favorite. They're kind of like pets...you just love them
all equally.
Punk Globe: I also seem to remember that you had quite a few solo albums and have done
jingles for TV. Am I right?
MARK LINDSAY: Yes, three solo albums and many national commercials, including ones for
Pontiac and Yamaha.
MARK LINDSAY: No, although I learned a lot from doing the show, and I gained even more
respect for radio deejays.
Punk Globe: Do you have any Internet Addresses you would like to share with us?
MARK LINDSAY: I'll be rolling through the US on the Happy Together tour this summer,
releasing an album or two, and hopefully having much success
Punk Globe: Any parting words for Punk Globe readers?
MARK LINDSAY: Thanks for logging on. I hope to see you "out on that road" this summer. And
thanks for still caring.
Punk Globe would like to thank Mark Lindsay for the interview and urge you all to check out
his new album...
