I decided to interview Limnus after their guitarist Ty Oliver started following me on Twitter. I hope you enjoy the interview..
Punk Globe:
Thanks so much for the interview you guys... How long has Limnus been around for?
Limnus:
Since about late 2009/ early 2010
Punk Globe:
Who is in Limnus and what do they play?
Limnus:
Jay M Blanch - Vocals, Jared Warren - Bass, Matthew Lawson - Guitar, Jay "Dark" Ericson - Keys, Ty Oliver - Guitar, Ryan Scott Long - Drums
Punk Globe:
Is this the original line up or have you replaced band members?
Limnus:
We've had a few people come and go while we were forming but I feel like this is the first real lineup, and definitely the best one.
Punk Globe:
Where is the band located and describe your sound?
Limnus:
We are all from East Bay Area, California. We're a mix of hardcore, industrial and rock music. We have some early goth influence as well.
Punk Globe:
Tell the readers how you came up with Limnus as the band name?
Limnus:
Jared discovered it around when we first met. It means "Doorway" or "Threshold".
Punk Globe:
Who have been inspirations for your sound?
Limnus:
Ministry, AFI, NIN, The Cure, Christian Death, There's definitely some 80s hair metal influence as well but you'll probably only experience that side of us at our shows.
Punk Globe:
Tell us about your releases?
Limnus:
We had our first album released in 2012 on Nothing but a Nightmare Records, titled "The Forbidden" We have an EP coming out in the next couple months as well.
Punk Globe:
Has Limnus toured?
Limnus:
We'd really, REALLY would like to. Hopefully we'll be able to get out this year. We've played some long distance shows here and there but nothing I would qualify as a full tour.
Punk Globe:
What bands do you enjoy playing with?
Limnus:
Psyclon Nine, Stellar Corpses, Christian Death, Calabrese, etc. All those shows were amazing experiences!
Punk Globe:
Tell us some of your favorite venues to play?
Limnus:
I think so far Slims in San Francisco was probably everyone's favorite. They have some amazing sound people there. We're also big fans of the DNA lounge and the 924 Gilman.
Punk Globe:
I understand you have Magic Mike in the band using the alias name of Ty Oliver. Tell us just how much clothes he loses when he plays?
Limnus:
Depends on how many $1 bills get shoved in his thong :P

"Spooky queer noise"
