JANE BADLER
TALKS TO JOHNNY PARIS
Sci-fi goddess Jane Badler - lizard-queen Diana in cult classic 'V' - is returning with a new single ''Stuck On You''

Jane Badler released her debut album (backed by the Melbourne-based band Sir) on June 1, 2008. Titled "The Devil Has My Double", it is an autobiographical album which has been described as "a compulsive mix of fame, sex and solitude, set to a sweeping soundtrack of cold soul and passionate synthetics.

Jane Badler released her second album, "Tears Again," in 2011 She is now working on her next studio album.
Punk Globe:
Hi Jane How are you ?
JANE BADLER:
I am doing great . Lots happening and keeping busy with all my creative ventures.
Punk Globe:
So after the two brillant album ''The Devil Has my double ''and ''Tears Again'', how would you describe the next album ?
JANE BADLER:
With my first AlbumDevil has my double I was asked to sing with the wonderful band Sir on existing music. For the Second Album Tears Again Jesse Shepherd wrote the songs for me and I tried my hand at songwriting with Nursery Rhyme. Also I was more involved in the production. In my New Album with the working title Opus I wrote all the songs and have been involved in every decision . So it has been an evolution. This album will be more electronic based. Still moody with dark lyrics but will have more of an electro pop sound.
Punk Globe:
You also had a great colaboration with a band SIR any other colaboration with other artist in future ?
JANE BADLER:
I am always collaborating with wonderful people. For this Album I spent a year writing with two wonderful writers. Matt Thomas and Byron St John. I am now working with some incredible musicians. I have used four different producers for the album. As each one brought a different sensibility to the songs.
Punk Globe:
As we spoke before you did mention an coming up tour you performing in Stockholm and Europe in August time, any US tour by chance could happen too ?
JANE BADLER:
There is no talk of a US tour at this point but you never know
Punk Globe:
I remember while ago you were singing ''La Vie En Rose'' in a series. I also caught few french words in some on your debut album, any desire of doing a french song ?
JANE BADLER:
I absolutley adore the french language. I speak enough French to do few songs in french and I would love to do that. Just have to find the time!! I performed in Paris a couple of years ago and it was incredible. I made many friends there so I often go back to Paris when I am travelling .
Punk Globe:
I mean you have an incredible voice and you also a fabulous actress it's quite rare to have both talents, its not permit to anyone who can sing and act, you are very talented Jane. Is it other talents you've been hidding like photography or painting ?
JANE BADLER:
Ha you are very kind. I think there are many creative people who have many talents. I love to sing and Act and at different times I have concentrated on each of them. At the moment I am doing a play and spending 8 hours a day doing improvization and experimental theatre. I liked being stretched as an artist. As far as any hidden talents. Well hopefully i am still discovering them. PG- Tell us more about ''Stuck On You'' the sound seems different than the others album , more electro-rock ! Is the Next masterpiece will sound different to the previous albums ?
JANE BADLER:
Stuck on you has had many lives. I wrote that song over a period of a month .
Punk Globe:
I really love the song I Want a lot of Boys to Cry at my Funeral , so I would like to ask you what is the story behind that song ? It was Directed by John Ibrahim and Produced by Grey Aviary Media .
JANE BADLER:
I kept coming back to it. I had an idea about Obsession and how often it keeps us from having to deal with our own mortality. I brought the song to Byron and Matt and they came up with the wonderful chorus melody. Byron did a wonderful electronic demo which we sent to Mark Saunders a producer in NYC who said we needed more lyrics . Which I wrote via email with Byron. So you can see every song has its own story.
Punk Globe:
And another song who has been re-mix several time call ''Yesterday's tomorrows'' , are you thinking of including those beauty as maybe in a delux version of your Next album ? J.B. - Yesterdays Tomorrow was written by the very talented Charlie Mason. I was asked to sing this song . The song attracted some fantastik remixes. At this point it wont be on any album just a great stand alone song..
Punk Globe:
Any chance of let us know when your album is out ?
JANE BADLER:
My new album will be finished end of August I hope and ready to buy sometime this year. Thats the plan !
Punk Globe:
You also now live in Australia , do you miss NYC ?
JANE BADLER:
I love Melbourne but Yes I mis NYC all the time. I am very lucky that i am now spending more and more time in New york so I can have both of these experiences in my life. The world is a very small place with Internet and so many people contact me for work directly which is great .
Punk Globe:
Karl Giant has done some great 'ART WORK'' for you how is it like to work with him as iam a huge fan of his work, a great makeup artist and photographer .
JANE BADLER:
I am so fortunate to have worked with Karl Giant on a photoshoot and hopefully a music video in the near future. He is incredible talented and can find the best way to shoot someone . Not only is he a brilliant photographer but also an incredible makeup artist and stylist. We had so much fun doing the shoot. The picture i use for the single is form our photoshoot.
Punk Globe:
In a previous french interview you were not coinviced of the ''Diana return'' script and you also said you wish they made her more vilain like the original ''Diana'' as myslef fan of ''V'' i was disapointed that she is been killed too early , and i do believe the original had more impact than the remake and maybe this is why we didn't get the third season what do you think of this ?
JANE BADLER:
Yes I was very disapointed in the developement of the new Diana in the New V. They kept me in the Dungeon far too long and when my story line finally started to expand they killed me. It was pretty traumatic as I felt the death of Diana was a very unpopular thing to do for the old fans. But the good thing is I returned to American TV after 20 years and it was wonderful to be back.Stay turned for my latest music video which will be out in the next couple of months. And I hope you will all follow me on twitter for the latest news @janebadler
