Punk Globe: How exciting The Exterminators have rebounded back for a reunion. Tell us how that came about?

Don Bolles: It's all Slope Records fault. They made us do it.

Johnny Macho: We've all been very close over the last 40 years and just felt like it was time.

Punk Globe: Let's go back in time. Can you tell us about the original band?

JM: Just some assholes playing music for cowboys and bikers. No punks in Phoenix in those days.

DB: It sounded like the Stooges "Raw Power" lp played on 45, and was the first band I played drums in. Also the first band Rob Graves Played bass in.

Punk Globe: How long did the original band stay together and what caused the band to call it quits?

JM: About a year, after half our band and the only other punk band (Consumers) moved to LA, it was back to the drawing board for Buzzy and I. That gave birth to the Feederz and Brainz.

DB: The band was already happening when Rob and I joined in late 1977, and we broke up when Rob and I moved to CA in early 1978. Doug (Buzzy Murder) moved there for a little while, too, but then he went back to Phoenix where he started the infamous Brainz, and later The Mighty Sphincter. Dan (Johnny Macho, our singer) stayed in Phoenix and joined the Feederz, then started Joke Flower and Victory Acres. He moved to LA for a bit in the 80s, with his wife and cohort Mary.

Punk Globe: Did everyone in the band move on to working with other bands?

DB: Pretty much. See above^. Rob and I moved to LA, where I joined the Germs and he joined the Bags on lead guitar. Doug and Dan formed bands in Phoenix.

JM: Buzzy: Feederz, Brainz, Mighty Sphincter

Johnny: Feederz, Victory Acres, Joke Flower, keys with Sun City Girls, bass on Eddie Detroit's first lp, and keys on his latest with Allen Bishop (SCG)

Rob: Bags, Gun Club, 45Grave

Don: Germs, Nervous Gender, Vox Pop, 45Grave, Three Day Stuble, Celebrity Skin, Fancy Space People, Ariel Pink

Punk Globe: Tell us about the current line up in the band?

DB: It's like the semi-original line up, but with Cris Kirkwood on bass, since Rob insists on staying dead.

JM: The band is fucking great, I suck.

Punk Globe: Did Slope Records approach anyone in hopes of a reunion?

DB: I think Thomas (Lopez) from Slope (Records) and Doug Clark may have cooked up this particular scheme.

JM: Pretty much, Buzzy thought it might work and pitched it to Slope.

Punk Globe: Tell us how you all got together to reunite and record the album?

DB: Slope paid for all our expenses and got us some studio time, so we could do. It seemed like as good a time to record our 40 year old songs as any, so we did, and now here we are.

JM: I drove, Don flew, Cris and Buzzy got rides. Rehearsed a couple times, brought a cassette from '78 into the studio and let it be the guide.

Punk Globe: Did it take some time to get the groove back or did you all just fall back into play like you had never really stopped?

JM: No, punk rock has been at the surface for all of us for over 40 years.

DB: Not really. Took a couple of beers and some dabs, and we were controlling pests just like in the olden days.

Punk Globe: Tell us about your new release "Product Of A New America"?

JM: 'Product of America'...none of this 'new' shit, its old shit...16 tracks from '78, we thought that'd be a good place to start. It fucking kills, we captured those days and now we won't them go

DB: Well first of all it's actually called "Product of America," and 2nd of all its pretty intense.

Punk Globe: How many track are on the the record?

DB: I dunno. Can't count that high. A lot?

JM: 8x2

Punk Globe: Do you plan on releasing any video's to support the release?

DB: Yes. We have been thinking of some cool and hopefully disturbing visual scenarios to assault the senses of the people.

JM: Working on it.

Punk Globe: Any plans for a tour?

DB: Not specifically, but it might be something fun to do.

JM: Soon, very soon.

Punk Globe: Did you intentionally pick election day to release "Product Of America"

JM: Yes

DB: I suppose so.

Punk Globe: Any Internet addresses The Exterminators that you would like to share with the readers?

JM: No.

DB: No. Stay offa that shit.

Punk Globe: Which candidate are you hoping will be our new President?

DB: None of the above. And unfortunately, most of the actual Secret World Government positions are non-elective.

JM: I hope you're kidding. I know they are.

Punk Globe: Any final words for Punk Globe readers?

DB: Help destroy capitalism - buy our record!

JM: Buy the record. It looks like we're gonna have to this all over again from the beginning. Time to get started.
