Hailing from Australia is the fan extraordinaire. David Russo is a creative Artist and Designer, a Warhol for the new age. David Russo is insanely talented, and uses his favorite artists as muses for different mediums of art.
Even as a child, David was always captivated by pop culture and its different streams; film, and music being the most important and leaving the biggest impression on him. When asked why his work is so important to him, he states “his influences have impacted him so much, it has to be conveyed perfectly, he owes it to them”. A lot of people can relate to what he says, there are certain moments in music or film that make a part of their life special and leave a lasting impact.
His taste in music is eclectic and ranges from classics like Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones and Metallica to contemporary artists of today such as Lady Gaga, Lana Del Rey and Porcelain Black.
"When it comes to days I’m feeling creative, a lot of the time I’ll just put my headphones on, pour myself a good drink then put that song on repeat I want to interpret and just go with the flow of the music. In most cases, all it can take are a few lyrics to get an idea sparked.”
For instance, my piece ‘Sweet like Cinnamon’ is based on the song ‘Radio’ by Lana Del Rey. My medium is usually mixed when creating hand painted pieces, for this project I chose to use Food Colouring & Cinnamon within her hair on the canvas, giving off an aroma being “Sweet like Cinnamon”.
Wow. Is that creative or what? David takes the most extreme creative paths, and they always turn out top notch. Each piece of his art exceeds the previous.
It is exciting to watch a young artist grow, and expand their artistic horizons. Soon, this crazy young Aussie will be internationally known for his creativity. Right now he is branching out, building his own brand
