One Of The Stars Of DMUS Has Arrived!

Article By: Sadie Duarte

On July 18th, 2015 Dave Aidan was invited to present the award for best new film at the Iberoamericano Film Festival at Starlite in Marbella together with other big stars. This festival was shown in Spain, South America and even USA! I was lucky enough to receive a short message from Dave before his trip and he was absolutely overjoyed and grateful for this wonderful chance.

We here at Punk Globe are so proud of him and his accomplishments and we are all sure Dave has a brilliant future as both an actor and singer. Actually, after watching DMUS, many people say that this charming man has charisma and although opinions may vary, most professionals I'm in touch with can't stop saying he looks great on screen.

But, as screenwriter, producer and director of DMUS, what's my opinion about Dave Aidan? Well, that's very easy!

I remember looking for actors and songwriters for my musical film DMUS more than two years ago. The script was ready and I was taking a look at my Twitter followers when I thought Dave would be perfect for the role of this humble, Latin guy with a heart of gold who always sends positive vibes. So I sent him a message and he agreed to talk about it. A few days later, we met up in Madrid and I told him about this crazy project with people from different countries. The idea was to help independent artists and try to do something that nobody has ever done in Spain before. Dave didn't hesitate at all and was very happy to be part of my film even without reading his lines. He said he would do it no matter what.

That really surprised me as many actors would never accept a role without knowing about the script first, even more if the movie was supposed to be shot in a different language. Of course, I gave Dave all the information he needed and said he loved his character, Mauro. From that moment on, this young actor would never stop improving his skills, going to acting classes, rehearsing with his mates at the School of Performing Arts Cuarta Pared, playing several roles with La Troupe Inestable in theatrical plays like Fando & Lis, Grease The Musical, Orfeo & Euridice or Fando & Lis (a critique not only of domestic violence, but of violence in general), singing, dancing and... studying!

In spite of all the problems we had to shoot DMUS like changing locations, filming dates and other fellow actors coming and going from the project, Dave NEVER stepped back. When the production company decided to film in Lugo and not in Madrid, he was the first one to say: "Hell, I'll do it! You trusted me so I'll be there for the team". And from pre-production to post-production, for two years, he was there, never saying a bad word and always ready to support my movie. Only a couple of days before filming, he said he could take his own guitar and clothes with him from Madrid to Lugo if we needed them! We obviously had a wardrobe and art department, but Dave wanted to make things really easy for all of us. When I look back and see how people from my team DMUS are doing great I feel very happy. They're all talented and brilliant and I'm sure we'll hear so much from all of them.

Now it's the right time for Dave and he'll take the chance without hesitating, always with a smile on his face. In his own words: "There's a time to laugh and there's a time to mourn, but above all, we need to live our lives to the full".
