Hi Mat thanks for taking the time for Let's Talk Punk

PUNK GLOBE:
Can you give us a little band history?

Abrasive Wheels:
Formed in 1976 in Leeds, England initially releasing 7 singles and 2 albums ('When the punks go marching in' and 'Black leather girl') and included on various compilations such as Punk And Disorderly and Riotous Assembly. The band split up in 1984 and reformed in 2003. Current members are Shonna - vocals, Chris - bass, Mat - guitar, Dave - drums

PUNK GLOBE:
How is the UK Punk Scene?

Abrasive Wheels:
There are loads of old and new punk bands around but not as many people attending local shows.

PUNK GLOBE:
Where are some of your favorite venues to play?

Abrasive Wheels:
Rebellion festival is always a highlight, also Warehouse 23 in Wakefield, UK and The Bull in Gateshead, UK.

PUNK GLOBE:
Tell us some of the bands you have played shows with.

Abrasive Wheels:
So many! G.B.H, Drongos For Europe, English Dogs, Schleprock, Hospital Food, Infa Riot, Bad Ass!, Peter and the Test Tube Babies, Not For You, Sick On The Bus, Evaquate, The Applicators, Expellaires, plus loads more!

PUNK GLOBE:
Is there anything you feel venues and promoters can do to better the scene?

Abrasive Wheels:
Paying the bands properly and not closing down!!!

PUNK GLOBE:
Do you have a memorable band moment to share?

Abrasive Wheels:
Most of our tour stories involve farting in the tour van!!! I dare not say anymore!!!!

PUNK GLOBE:
Where have you toured? I know you were in California recently how was that visit?

Abrasive Wheels:
The recent US tour with Infa Riot and Schleprock was amazing!. All really great guys and friends and the venues were packed! Vegas was mind blowing!!

PUNK GLOBE:
If you could tour any place of your choice where would you go?

Abrasive Wheels:
Anywhere that will have us!!!

PUNK GLOBE:
Describe your show to us visually and musically.

Abrasive Wheels:
Fast, full of energy, loud and sweaty!!!

PUNK GLOBE:
What will we see in the future from Abrasive Wheels?

Abrasive Wheels:
New music and tours hopefully!

PUNK GLOBE:
Any upcoming shows or tours?

Abrasive Wheels:
Rebellion festival next year and a return to the US next year. We are also bringing The Generators over to the UK for a mini tour next March.

PUNK GLOBE:
Were you guys inspired by any records or tapes?

Abrasive Wheels:
The original punk scene in general really! So many great records around at the time!

PUNK GLOBE:
Whats your opinion of vinyl and cassettes coming back?

Abrasive Wheels:
I'm a huge fan of vinyl anyway. I think it's about holding something physically in your hands, plus it sounds so much better!!!

PUNK GLOBE:
Anything you would like to add?

Abrasive Wheels:
Yeah, support your local scene or lose it forever!

PUNK GLOBE:
Any shout-outs you would like to give?

Abrasive Wheels:
Anyone who has been to our shows and supported us!

PUNK GLOBE:
Thanks for the interview keep rocking!

Abrasive Wheels:
Thank You
