The Duel on the outside looked like they had been on a high but throughout their career, they carried a burden and it was clear to Tara there was something wrong with Andy that they couldn't put their finger that troubled the band the whole time until tragically in 2014 Andy Thierum (Co Songwriter & co-founder of the band along with Tara Rez) finally got diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis curtailing the band. Andy's condition went undiagnosed for a long time, and even when diagnosed it caused a lot of trouble and confusion knowing how to go forward as there was no help, or support available. It can take years to make an accurate diagnosis of autoimmune diseases like progressive MS as the condition worsens slowly, the sooner you catch it the sooner you can start managing it, and have a chance of a normal life.
Originally released 10 years ago 'The Soundtrack to The End of The World (The Zak Splash Story)' featuring Max Splodge from Splodgenessabounds, is now completely remade remastered, and remixed and being re-released by Tara on the 16th September. This re-release gives an opportunity to raise further awareness, help people understand what life with MS can be like, and importantly to help people recognise the early signs and identify the disease. A portion of the proceeds from this release go to the MS Society.
